Checkout re-architecture
An AI-scaffolded payments service was dropping two in five checkouts at peak. Rebuilt the write path; zero duplicate charges since.
Real-time dispatch engine
A nightly cron assigned drivers. Fine at a dozen vehicles, dead past a few dozen concurrent orders. Now event-driven.
Patient portal security pass
Inherited auth passed every happy-path test. Session invalidation was broken and one role check could be bypassed outright.
Nightly pipeline rebuild
An eleven-hour batch job failed silently — customers noticed stale dashboards before the client did.
Marketplace inventory API
A fast-shipped MVP sold stock that did not exist. Two concurrent writes, no locking, no idempotency.
dota-core / dota-wrap / dota-rest
A frontend framework built from scratch on native web components. Sometimes the right tool does not exist yet.
Subscription billing migration
Moved 40,000 live subscriptions between providers over a single weekend without a renewal failing.
Multi-region failover
Disaster recovery existed on paper only. Built and rehearsed it until the runbook was boring.
Prompt-injection hardening
A document assistant followed instructions hidden in the documents it read. Closed the class, not just the cases.
Search relevance rebuild
A fifth of searches returned nothing. Rebuilt tokenisation, synonyms and ranking against real query logs.
Warehouse cost teardown
Every dashboard queried raw tables on load. Modelled the layer properly and the bill stopped compounding.
Mobile session integrity
Refresh tokens could be replayed indefinitely after logout. Rotated, bound and revocable now.
Event-sourced ledger
Month-end reconciliation was a six-hour manual ritual. Made the ledger append-only and it reconciles continuously.
CI pipeline reduction
A 42-minute build meant nobody ran the full suite before merging. Cached, parallelised and made it cheap to trust.
Legacy PHP strangler
Fifteen years of PHP, no tests, no appetite for a big-bang rewrite. Routed traffic away one endpoint at a time.
Vector index cost pass
Every request re-embedded the same context. Cached, chunked and right-sized the index instead.
Webhook idempotency layer
Provider retries were re-running side effects — duplicate emails, duplicate ledger entries, duplicate meta-platform events. Made every handler replay-safe.
Observability rollout
Incidents were diagnosed by reading logs over someone’s shoulder. Traced the request path end to end.
